MAN POWER MIX is a dance art piece that puts sensational matter at the fore. Experimenting with the poetics of erotics through their rupturing man performance, STEVE & SAM engage with soft and hard materials, labor- intensive tasks and methods of vibrant transmission. Sheena McGrandles & Zinzi Buchanan step into the shoes of Sam & Steve, an alpha-male performance duo. Their androgynous appearance sets up a pleasant ripple through the audience’s customary ways of looking and thinking. In their home-made free space, they take on one another and their environment – by turns sober and practical or buzzing with erotic tension or machismo.
