EEE SERIES
During my master studies (2010-12) I develeoped a series of E’s that have attempted to ‘do the body in performance. The work has moved from the choreographic (E) to the performative practice (Ee) to a performative space (Eee) through which the body moves between ‘doing’ and ‘being’.
The E series is an artistic research project with a concern for question and experimentation into body, voice and the performativity of language. Through this series of works I have focused on body with a question mark with the attempt to ‘disturb’ it, drain it from recognition, in order to queer it and the space that it inhabits. It is a project that becomes a performative space of embodying physical potentials, rendering the familiar unfamiliar, the known unknown in hope of offering critical and alternative readings and viewings of body. So by continuing to push these ‘doings’ into and onto the body itself, I aim to find other ways of being present and moreover other ways of continuing ‘doing’ the body in performance. |
