BOUNTY
A white cube is adapted to the conditions of a theater, creating an onstage wunderkammer, cabinet of curiosities in which strange materials, phenomena, bodies, moments and working methods from the performing and visual arts intertwine.
BOUNTY is as a synesthetic space, in which colours, body, sound, light and movement are equal in their value. Set over the time frame of 4hours BOUNTY seduces the viewer into an engagement of time where everything slows down, where the aim is to lay low, watch, and absorb images as they evolve through hyper present bodies and materials seemingly un-relating. Through the continued slowness of the gesture and controlled softness of the body, dystopian narratives emerge, gaps appear transporting you into a passing pectoral, leaking, treated space. With the focus on a composed space of the corner, two white wall surfaces meeting. Architecturally we constructed a situated ‘place’. It becomes a frame to contain and expose the body and material in proximity and expanded time. Supported by PSSST Los Angeles, Tanznacht Berlin and Goethe Institute Germany. |
