FIGURED is the second in a series of works that Sheena is engaged in around questions of temporality in live performance and illogical intimacies.
The first episode of FIGURED took place in December as part of the 10th anniversary of MA SODA. This involved working with and developing principles from digital video editing techniques and understanding ways in which to apply these on the body. A trajectory was cut, sliced, edited, re-edited and performed live. Through the rupturing of time, multiple narratives appear and disappear, relations, are made and remade. A kind of feminist crusing, or a perversion of insistence performed across a wall.
The ‘wall’, a reoccurring element within the series, this time as screen, display, backdrop, object and choreographical devise.
FIGURED gets stuck in the detail and insists in the seeing of it again and again
FIGURED will premiere in June 2018 at The Place Theatre in London.
